My Dog Ate My ORT's & other stuff

Yes, my dog actually ate my ORT's. Before I get into that, can someone please remind me what "ORT" stands for? LOL Anyway, our dog eats everything & by everything I mean socks, sheets & blankets, he has an obsession with eating tissue & paper towel. He can't have any bedding in his crate because he tears the stuffing out & eats the bedding. He eats the usual outside stuff & especially enjoys eating other animals' poop, which is ever so gross....he's an eating machine & nothing is safe around him. We bought him a nearly indestructible treat toy lastnight & within 15 minutes of giving it to him, he had eaten the bottom out of it, got the treat & continued to pick it apart, bite by bite, though I have to give him credit in not actually ingesting the parts this time. He simply spit them out. So, last week I was stitching....and yes he likes to try to chew on my K's Creations lap stand which makes Momma mad LOL.  He likes to try to grab my colored pencil in the tray & eat that too. He even went so far as to put his jaws on my WIP of Mermaids of the Deep Blue while it was in the frame. The little booger looked at me whilst doing that like "Mommy can I please have a taste?"  He's SO bad LOL  Anyway, I had my lovely little ORTs in my lap stand tray, walked away to get some tea, came back & the little brat is chewing something. I see him near my stitching, logically reason that he's gotten something he shouldn't, open his mouth & see a lovely array of Kreinik sparklies, some pinks & light green flossies, oh and there was some lavender floss & bits of ribbon in there too. I tried to dig them out of his mouth but couldn't so I let him eat them all! Nice huh?

So after all of that here is my update on my stitching. Here's my WIP of Mermaids of the Deep Blue. Her arm looks like it was put in a chopping mechanism - it's uneven as I'm only working on the lighter skin color. I am recharting the colors on the skin to make the darkest parts lighter so it's more even. I'd have had the face completed but had to frog alot of it cause I was off by 1 stinking stitch. I have to say I love this fabric's color. Kudos to Picture This Plus! Though it's a bitch to stitch on because it's so dark. I have to use a white towel & major lighting.
Here's my small update on Crescent Moon Dragon aka Man Dragon
I forgot to take a picture of Tree of Hope as I had made some nice progress on that one. I spilled ALL of the green beads on the couch one evening & of course, Dino came along to try to eat those as well. I was able to save most of them - the rest will just have to stay in the no man's land that is the underside of my couch.

Thanks for stopping by!

Haha. You SO had me laughing at your dog. I feel your pain. My smallest dog likes to paw and knot stuff, i.e. silk threads that I had sitting out one day! Lesson learned there. I have spilled an entire container of beads, not fun. Kind of like in the movie A Christmas Story when they are on the side of the road changing the tire and Ralphie spills the lug nuts and says oh....fudge.

Doggies love to chew and it amazes me how mine can always manage to chew on things she's not suppose to. Got to love them though :-) nice progress on your wip's..

OMG, Jen!!! It's a wonder he didn't come and puke it all up on the bed. ROFLMAO!!!

ORT... ermm.... Old Ratty Threads or something like that, I think.

Oooooh, MotDB is looking good!!!! I was working on that arm last night too, but didn't get very far cos American Chopper marathon was on the DVR. Bah!! ;)

Man Dragon looks great... you're almost there!!!

And sigh about those beads, girlie....

LOL! I am sorry, I just had to laugh at your dog. My cats do the same thing though! They can sense things, I swear. They pull the bobbins out of the boxes and run away with them, lol.

Your Mermaids are going to be gorgeous!! That fabric is amazing. The dragon is looking good too, the colors are so bright! I hope you post a photo of your Tree of Hope soon, I would love to see it.

Joyce had mentioned your blog (and your dog!), so I came to check it out. I can't believe your dog was eating thread. LOL. And tried to take a snack on your mermaids! Oh my!
I love the fabric for your mermaids, and I can't wait to see more.

Hello Jen! I found you through my good friend Joyce!! I can't believe he eats everything!! I laughed while reading your post. Silly pupooski!! What kind of dog is he? Did he poop sparkly threads? As for ort, the meaning is a small scrap or bit of something. I like Joyce's version better though!!!

LOL! Oh gosh, that's so funny about Dino eating everything. Oh, that PTP fabric is so gorgeous! I'm curious, is that your blog's background? It matches perfectly.

Hugs,
Veronica.

Thanks everyone for all the comments. Dino is the bestest most wonderful dog. He's half Rottweiler & half Pitbull. When we tell people that they freak out but it's all in how you raise a dog. Dino is amazingly sweet to everyone & every animal. He's 10 months as of tomorrow so it explains only some of his freshness that he's still a pup LOL All of your comments made me giggle & I'm glad you all got a kick out of his silliness. He DID poop sparkly threads LMAO

Rachel my cat does the same thing with the bobbins. What is it with all of our animals!

Veronica, the background DOES look SO much like my fabric for MotDB. I picked it because of that. I love blues.
